Location

Situated in what is known as the foothills or transition life zone, the park is home to abundant and diverse flora and fauna. Bears and mountain lions, western tanagers, all four races of darkeyed juncos (in winter), western wallflowers and wild candytuft all thrive in Pueblo Mountain Park. To explore this beautiful environment, visitors can hike more than six miles of trails along ridgelines and forested hillsides and through steep canyons and lush valleys. These same trails are also an important resource for the Mountain Park Environmental Center, whose mission is to provide experiential environmental education and interpretive programming about the natural world.

Rock Skills Training at Pueblo Mountain Park Project

Learn Rock Skills and participate in this important project. Learn how to build a rock wall, install rock steps, and check dams.This project has some challenging rock sections that will provide a great opportunity for learning or improving your rock skills. If you are signed up to volunteer for both days of the VOC project, there is no charge for the training. If you would like to only participate in the training there is a $35 fee. Note: This training is being offered in conjunction with the Pueblo Mountain Park VOC Project. The training is only Saturday and the VOC project runs Saturday and Sunday. Everyone signed up for the training is encouraged to volunteer to work on the project Sunday, but it is not a requirement.
